When They Kill Christians

If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

John 15:18 ESV

Never forget, friends. We are in a cosmic battle with eternal stakes.

In this video, a thirteen-year-old girl begs for her father to be released from prison in Iran, where he is on death row for converting to Christianity.

She says, “Don’t kill my dad! Kill me instead…”

Jesus reminded the disciples that if the world hates them, it’s because they hated Jesus first. And the world will hate those of us who are his.

The world, here, is the Satanic reign of evil powers and principalities at war with the Kingdom of God (Ephesians 6:12).

Take heart — they will not prevail (John 16:33).

But be wary. Be watchful. Do not fall asleep.

There is an enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (1 Peter 5:8). And it’s happening every day.

Here’s what we can do right now:

  1. Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters.
  2. Stay alert for opportunities to combat the darkness.
  3. Maintain *ultimate* hope in Jesus, who is coming again, and forsake any hope we have in the systems of this world.

P.S. I do not share that Twitter account as an encouragement to follow it — as it is run by a Muslim leader. However, the content is too important not to share. Be watchful.
