Waves of Change

“But you are the same, and your years have no end.”

Psalm 102:27 ESV

Change is uncomfortable, isn’t it?

Just when it seems like I could get used to the way life is going…things are good, my days are productive and I have gotten pats-on-the-back saying “well done;” that is when change shows up.

It seems like change comes in big waves as well. Not only does one little thing change, but about 10 things change along with it. With the waves, come ripples effecting every part of our life, even just a little bit.

Right now, my husband and I are going through a season of change. As we were laying in bed one night I turned to him and said, “I know all the changes happening in our life are good things, but change is really uncomfortable.”

We are creatures of habit. Most of us like to know what our days are going to look like, or at least know that whatever our days look like we will be okay and we will be happy. We know that we really have no control over our life, but we like to give the illusion to ourselves that we do.

No matter the season, no matter the change, God will always remain true and constant.

In seasons of doubt, heartbreak and confusion…He is the same.

In seasons of joy, gladness and clarity…He is the same.

Change is uncomfortable but with change comes; growth, wisdom and dependence on Him. In the seasons of change is when we cling to Him the most. When we run to Him with our worries and questions.
