The Answer to Our Problem

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Like a lot of people, I don’t care for math. My aversion to the topic began in high school when it became increasingly difficult for me, and my confidence in finding the correct solutions to the assigned problems started to fail—like my test scores.

In today’s post-Christian world, many are unable or unwilling to find the answer to their spiritual problems. But unlike complicated algebraic equations that are seemingly impossible to solve, the eternal problem we all face is simple: our sin keeps us separated from God.

Yes, we all sin and to say otherwise wouldn’t be truthful (1 John 1:8). But when we habitually choose sin, we can’t hope for or expect anything other than eternal death. Luckily, God gave us the formula needed to escape sin’s deadly curse, and it’s as easy to grasp as two plus two. Jesus is the solution to our sin problem.

Only through Christ are we saved from our sins, and only through Him do we experience God’s love (John 14:6). And because God loves us, it doesn’t matter how big or little our sins are; whether they’re old sins or if we’re in the midsts of them now—Jesus saves (Romans 5:8).

So the question now is this: if Christ’s blood on the cross saved you from your sins and eternal separation from God, what are you going to do about it? I’ll give you the answer: consider committing your life to Jesus today.
