5 Things To Do When Your Health Is Under Spiritual Attack

Have you ever felt like your health is under spiritual attack? I sure do.

This has been a tough health year for me:

→ Brain scans & bipolar 1
→ Insomnia
→ Irlen syndrome
→ Fractured vertebrae
→ Arthritis
→ Osteoporosis at 35 😳
→ Hypothyroid

…and even more junk!!!

Is Your Health Under Spiritual Attack?

However, right now so many of our friends and family are going through major health challenges, too.

I don’t like over-spiritualizing things. But I believe that our health is under spiritual attack.

  • The enemy is trying to take leaders out…
  • He’s attacking our kids…
  • Trying to make us lose hope that God heals…
  • Tempting us to agree with lies…
  • Working to get us to walk away…
  • Attempting to push us to suicide…
  • Doing whatever he can to steal, kill, and destroy…

If things rings true for you, your family, friends, or church, here’s what we can do by going to God’s Word!

One: Remind ourselves of God’s promises to heal

Read these passages, remembering God’s promises always prove true. He desires to heal his people. And he’s more merciful than we can imagine.

  • Jeremiah 33:6
  • 1 Peter 2:24
  • Psalm 41:3
  • Psalm 103:2-3
  • Psalm 147:3
  • James 5:15

Two: Recite Jesus’ power to heal

Read these verses out loud. Recite and memorize Jesus’ real power to heal!

  • Matthew 9:35
  • Mark 5:34
  • Luke 4:18
  • Luke 6:19
  • Acts 10:38

Three: Redeem our suffering by building endurance

In 2 Corinthians 12:7, Paul talks about a “thorn” in the flesh that’s a “messenger of Satan” to “torment” him. We don’t know the exact nature of this spiritual attack. But we do know it’s something God decided not to remove during his time on earth. While we don’t want to make exceptions the rule, we can see how God redeems our suffering to make us deeper and more fruitful by showing up in our weakness.

  • Romans 5:3-5
  • 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
  • Hebrews 5:8

Four: Rebuke the enemy in Jesus’ authority

Jesus is greater than the enemy, and demons tremble at his name. Walk in his authority, rebuking the attacks with your shield of faith.

  • Matthew 28:18
  • John 16:33
  • Ephesians 6:10-12
  • James 4:7
  • 1 John 4:4

Five: Release the Holy Spirit’s healing power in faith

Believers are filled with the Holy Spirit of the Almighty God! He wants to work in us and through us — and Jesus gave the disciples (and now us) spiritual authority to walk in this power.

  • Matthew 10:1
  • Acts 3:1-10
  • Acts 5:12-16
  • Acts 8:4-8
  • Acts 9:32-35
  • Acts 14:8-10
  • Acts 20:7-16
  • Acts 28:1-9
  • Romans 8:26
  • Ephesians 6:18
  • Colossians 1:9
  • James 5:16
