No Fear.

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7

Does this sound familiar? When it comes to right and wrong, you know what you ought to do, but you don’t always do it. And when you don’t, you feel frustrated, guilty, or even ashamed. I realize that’s a pretty generic scenario, but I bet if you gave it some thought, you could come up with at least one habit or behavior that could fit into this storyline.

As James 4:17 reminds us, this is sinful behavior. But what prevents us from doing what we know God wants us to do? Is it fear? Fear of commitment? Fear of having to stand up to others or what they might say about us? Whatever the reason, we should never let it stand in the way of our relationship with God.

God wants more for us than we want for ourselves. There’s no more explicit evidence for this than the fact He gave up His only Son, Jesus Christ, to free us from the shackles of our sin (Gal 4:5).

His amazing plan for us doesn’t stop there. When we acknowledge Christ as our Savior and put His Words into action, we not only gain a deeper understanding of God’s character but we grow to be more like Christ. His power lives within us and will help us overcome any fear or obstacle life can throw our way.

Today, invite the power of Christ into your life and stand tall. God has a plan for you!
