Luke 15:17-19 – Run Back to the Father

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.

Luke 15:17-18 ESV

I hate running on the treadmill. If at all possible, I will run outdoors.

One reason I prefer to run outside is because I like to run out a certain distance. When you run 5 miles out, you have to run 5 miles back, and if you’re on a treadmill, it’s easier to quit and give up. However, there have been times that I ran too far out, and I thought I’d never make it back. I just ran too far and I was too tired to run back, but I made it.

Guess what? With God you never run too far that you can’t make it back! You’ve never done too much or sinned too great to not make it back.

Ever heard the parable of the prodigal son? Notice, that he “came to himself“ or his right mind and turned from what he was doing and ran back to the Father. As soon as his Father saw him, the Father ran to his lost son and all was forgiven.

Are you tired of running? Turn around and run to the Father. He’s waiting to receive you with open arms. All will be forgiven. You have not run too far to make it back! He will run to you as soon as you turn around and stop running from Him.

Stop listening to the lies of the enemy! He’s deceitful. Jesus is waiting to receive you and forgive you. He loves you! Turn around and run back to Him!

Father, I pray for those who have run so far that they think they cannot make it back, and I ask that they hear Your voice and turn around today to be received of You, in Jesus name.‬ CK
