He Has Said (Hebrews 13:5b)

for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b ESV)

Have you ever made a promise you couldn’t keep? Or had someone let you down after they promised to be there for you? Maybe you started with good intentions, but still failed to follow through. Trust is fragile, isn’t it? Even with people who’ve never disappointed us, we might hold back because, well, they’re human just like us. We all make mistakes. But how should we respond when God makes a promise?

“He has said” is powerful. These words should grab our attention because when God speaks, things happen! He spoke the universe into existence (Psalm 33:8-9), decided exactly when and where we would live (Acts 17:26), and holds everything together by His word (Hebrews 1:3). Charles Spurgeon once wrote that whether we need comfort in quiet times or strength during struggles, “He hath said!” must be our daily refuge. And what has God said? “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” His promise isn’t empty—it’s guaranteed.

Walk with peace and confidence today, knowing that through every trial and uncertainty, you have an unbreakable promise from the Creator of everything. You will never be alone.
