3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. 4. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.” (ACTS. 8:3-4).
Before the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven he answered the question of his disciples telling them, “8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come on you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
It was the desire of Jesus Christ that his disciples should go everywhere with the Good News and love of Christ to share with everyone. But somehow they all were so comfortable in their area. Bible very clearly says, “12. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (II Timothy 3:12). There was a great revival after the resurrection of Jesus Christ and great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And that was the reason the persecution of the Church started. And of course the will of the Lord also was being fulfilled of as his disciples scattered abroad but as they did they were preaching the Word.
The same thing happens everywhere as the persecution breaks anywhere in the world the power of God is being manifested and signs and wonders take place and church grows rapidly. We could see this happened in the beginning of the book of Acts.
Same is true in the 21st century also right in the remote villages of Talavadi hills. The fanatics can oppose whatever degree in their strength and put so many bondages but the Word of God cannot be bound. (II Timothy 2:9). The church is growing, more people are being added to the church in Talavadi despite of persecution. We are asked to move our church out of residential area, Children out of fear have stopped coming to the Sunday School. Some believers faced dire questions from the fanatic with warning but they are still regular to the Church on Sundays. And that is great in the sight of God. People are accepting Jesus as their Savior and Lord and come to the Church at Talavadi.
We remain thankful to you our beloved brothers and sisters in Christ for standing with us in your prayer- support at this seemingly tough time. Your partnership is so valuable and precious!
God`s promise is with us. “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good things will he withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalms 84:11). “After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding reward” (Genesis 15:1).
So we rejoice with you for what our good Lord is about to do in these remote forest and hills` villages for His Name`s sake. He is at work is saving the lost and adding to the local church of Talavadi! Praise to His Holy Name which is above every name!
