Daily Devotional Bible Verse

And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s house. (2 Chronicles 7:2 ESV)

In this verse, the weight of God’s glory was so tangible that the priests felt there wasn’t even room enough to stand within the Temple. In that moment they experienced the literal presence of God residing in his house; for His glory, and for the people’s good. When we step into our place below His throne, our eyes are opened, we see the King of kings reigning, and our response is “He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever” (2 Chronicles 7:3).

This same God, who makes himself known from the beginning is revealing himself still, and we may now belong to His kingdom through the resurrected savior, Jesus Christ. If we, as the “royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9) would step back into our place and observe Jesus seated at the Father’s right hand, our church would be transformed into His Church. His glory would so fill our fellowship that our flesh would have no room to stand at his altar, and people everywhere would humbly fall to their knees and join in that age old verse, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

Focus on the glory of Jesus today.
