The King Of My Life

I sat outside in the veranda, my Bible was on my thigh. There was a cup of a morning tea on the tea table in front of me. Cool morning breeze was so comforting. I was reading Mark chapter 15 as my daily morning devotion. I read up to verse 12 and that made me to stop there and then several things started coming to my mind as I was meditating on that portion of Scripture, rather on the incident of Jesus before the Pilate.

I was more attracted to the question he asked to all people who were waiting to hear his judgment, “And Pilate answered and said again unto them, ‘what will ye then I shall do unto him whom ye called the King of Jews?’” (Mark 15;12).

As I was silently waiting on the Lord to hear from Him. He whispered in my ears.

Teaching For Profit

Thus saith the LORD, they Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.” (Isaiah 48:17).

This verse said to the people of Israel, a Peculiar People, and we believers are also a Peculiar people. “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Tit. 2:14). “But y are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (I Peter 2:9).

Who Shall Roll The Stone?

1. And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulcher at the rising of the sun. 3. And they said among themselves, who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulcher?‖ (Mark 16:1-3).

Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James as they were walking the lonely path to the tomb their spirits had been crushed by the same nails that pierced the hands and feet of Jesus. They were discouraged, disheartened, and defeated. And what they wanted more than anything else was to see Jesus one last time, to honor Him by anointing his body with spices and perfumes.
