Find out what we believe here: Our Core Beliefs
Shortdailydevotions.com is just what it sounds like, a short, christian daily devotional that can be read either on the website’s main page, or in a Monday through Friday email you can subscribe to here. The devotions are a quick read and an effort to love and serve God’s people amidst the rush of life. They are intended as a supplement to your daily walk with God as you study the Bible, pray to Jesus, and fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters.
Ryan Bell – Creator of Short Daily Devotions and Writer
After graduating college Ryan lived in Southern Sudan as a missionary. While there, he connected with another missionary family and continued to minister with them when they came back to the US, and helped them plant a church. Ryan pastored the church and eventually guided its merger with another church plant of a like heart and mission. During this time Ryan began journaling in his ESV Journaling Bible. It was through this that Ryan decided to share what God was teaching him with others. Ryan is married to his beautiful wife Michelle and they have a little boy named Caleb.
Jordan Loftis – Editor and Writer
Jordan is a young guy with a passion for Jesus, and teaching people who he has revealed himself to be. He has lead as a youth pastor and served multiple congregations through preaching and teaching the Bible. The son of church planters, he’s grown up on the front lines of the church and seen the Lord’s hand at work in countless people’s lives, as well as his own. Jordan and his wonderful wife Joelle live in Denver, CO. Together they feel called to serve the Church by loving and investing in people, and being as generous to others as the Father who gives good gifts has been to them.
Kevin Pounds- Writer & Church Planter
In November of 2010, Kevin moved with his pregnant wife Christin and young son Jude to Burlington, VT for another ride on the church planting roller coaster. Kevin grew up in the metro-Atlanta area where he served for ten years as a youth minister and college pastor. Throughout these years he had a passion to reach unchurched students but struggled to view himself as a pastor because he did not “fit the mold.” God eventually convinced Kevin that is exactly why He would send him to start churches to reach people in unchurched areas. In June 2004, Kevin and Christin moved their lives from the Atlanta area to New Brunswick, NJ, to start and pastor the Point Church. During his tenure as Lead Pastor, Kevin learned a great deal about starting churches in urban college towns that reach students, families, and those on the fringe of society. His passion is to see churches planted in communities around the Northeast and develop leaders who will do the same.
